Hard Wax Vs. Soft Wax

Hard Wax Vs. Soft Wax

Hard Wax Vs. Soft Wax

Before we begin to tell you whether hard or soft wax is better for you, let’s explain what each one is exactly.

Soft wax is applied in a very thin layer to the skin. A strip of material is then applied over the wax once it has had time to harden, then carefully but strongly pulled off the skin, taking the wax and the hair with it.

As for hard wax, it is applied to the skin in a thicker layer, and then required to harden before removing. Unlike soft wax, hard wax is able to be removed without any material. The wax is simply stripped off the skin.

In terms of whether to choose hard or soft wax, it depends on what you’re looking for.

Soft wax can be applied and removed quickly, however, it is advised that you not use it if you have sensitive skin, since it is more likely to cause ingrown hairs than hard wax.

Hard wax is better suited for those with sensitive skin, and is better if you are waxing below your belt. It is more gentle on the bikini area because it attaches strictly to the hair and not the skin, making it more gentle. It is also better at removing tiny hairs, so it is ideal for removing hair on the upper lip as well.

So, if you’re waxing your arms or legs, it’s better to use soft wax because it is more efficient. But if you’re waxing more sensitive areas such as your upper lip or bikini area, hard wax is better.
