Follow these simple steps to prep, apply, and remove your wax for smooth, long-lasting results every time.
Fill up your warmer halfway and let your wax melt completely. Continue to add wax and consistently stir until the proper consistency is reached. Set your warmer to the formula’s suggested working temperature. Recommended Wax Temp: 60–65°C |
You’re looking for a honey-like texture, if you notice it’s runny or stringy, the wax is too hot.
Prep Your Skin
Prep your skin. The pre-wax gel will clean the skin, as well as hydrate it. Once applied, remove any excess product with a clean, dry cotton round. Powder is not used in the Starpil method.
Application
Spread the wax evenly in the direction of hair growth, pressing firmly so it fully adheres. At the end of your strip, leave a slightly thicker edge — like a small lip or tab — that you can easily grab onto for removal.
Removal
Once the wax has set, hold the skin taut and use the lip/tab to lift the edge. Pull the strip back quickly and firmly, keeping it close and parallel to the skin (not upward) for the smoothest results.
Post Wax Care
Apply Starpil's post-wax lotion followed by our post-wax oil. The lotion will hydrate and calm the skin, while the oil locks in that moisturizer and removes any wax residue.
Two reasons. First, the 4-T-Butylcyclohexanol in the formula is recognized in cosmetic research as a skin-soothing active that reduces sensations of skin discomfort. Second, Starsoft's 55–60°C working temperature is the lowest in our line — significantly cooler than standard hard waxes that work at 70–80°C. Less heat + a soothing active = the calmest waxing experience in our catalog.
Starsoft = comfort-first formula with the neurosensory actives (Butylcyclohexanol, tamanu oil, Vitamin E) that leave skin feeling calm during the service. The all-arounder for hypersensitive clients. Coral = sensitive-skin specialist with Mediterranean coral calcium that calms post-wax redness.
Starsoft works on the experience. Coral works on the recovery. Many pros carry both.
For most pros, yes. Starsoft grips everything from fine facial hair to coarse Brazilian hair, which is why a lot of solo estheticians use it as their only formula. Larger studios with specialized service menus still benefit from carrying two or three waxes, but a single-formula Starsoft setup is a real and proven option.
Melt on max until fully liquid (60–70°C), then drop your warmer to 55–60°C for application — that's lower than any other wax in our line. The wax should look like thick honey when it's ready (the "Manuka honey" consistency is your signal). If it strings or runs off the spatula on your test strip, it's still too hot. Let it cool 30 seconds and try again.
I thought it would be thicker for coarse facial hair but its not
I thought it would be thicker for coarse facial hair but its not. Breaks off and ive tried different methods all 4 times. Thicker, thinner, and even with a strip..
