I purchased Starpil’s Hypoallergenic Pink Film Hard Wax Beads for my daughter, who is a student aesthetician, for her at-home setup. While the quality is very good, we personally prefer Starpil’s Clear StarSoft wax.
The Pink Film Wax melts smoothly and is gentle on the skin, which we really appreciate—especially since she learned in school that she reacts to soft wax. It applies evenly and removes hair effectively, but we found it doesn’t spread or grip quite as well as Clear StarSoft and requires a bit more precision during application.
This wax is still a solid option for clients or users with very sensitive skin who want a softer, more forgiving formula. It’s just not our personal favorite compared to Clear StarSoft, which we find easier to work with and more effective overall.

We also purchased it with the silicone liner, which has been a game changer. It makes cleanup so easy and keeps the unit much cleaner, which is a huge plus when practicing frequently.
It’s very easy to use, looks professional, and holds temperature well—so important when learning proper waxing techniques. My daughter loves how reliable it is and feels confident using professional-quality equipment at home.
Highly recommend this warmer (and definitely the silicone liner) for students, beginners, or anyone needing a dependable, compact wax warmer!
Love this pot so far! Holds just enough wax, heats really fast even FASTER with the silicone inserts! Definitely a great upgrade
Fast drying, best wax for coily hair. However, the 2+ lb option has been out of stock for over 5+ months.
This wax pot requires a silicone hard wax insert before use. Without it, pieces of the pot can fall into the wax. I had to switch to another pot until I was able to purchase an insert from a different company. Aside from that, the pot heats well and does not get too hot.
The wax I normally purchase from Starpil was sold out so I decided to give this one a shot. It was not my favorite. No matter how thin or thick I spread the wax it would shatter off when trying to remove, and if I managed to get a good strip pull it would not pick up much hair. I tried different techniques and even temps. I’ll for sure try to stick to the Pink Hypoallergenic
